The Harry Smith Carvings and Violins
Featuring the vast array of wood carvings of James Harry Smith, this collection of art is on permanent display in the Fire Station Museum. Mr. Smith lived in Mount Vernon in the early 1900s and was considered to be a self-made architect, painter and inventor. The beautiful violins shown in the exhibit, as well as various miniature tools and toys are evidence of his great talent as a wood carver.
